CHALLENGE:
Rothera, a CFTC-regulated event contract market founded as a joint venture between Robinhood and Susquehanna International Group, needed to launch critical infrastructure on an aggressive timeline. The company required a robust reference management system capable of structuring and managing thousands of event contracts, supporting efficient customer integrations, and scaling to tens of thousands of listed contracts.
With less than five months before launch, Rothera sought a reliable technology partner to build the back end of its custom platform (Rothera Instrument Management System, RIMS) while integrating closely with its internal user interface team.
SOLUTION:
Connamara worked alongside Rothera’s technically proficient team to build and deploy RIMS. A spirit of continuous communication, through daily client standups and messaging, as well as a living requirements document, kept priorities clear and enabled rapid responses to feedback.
Connamara integrated the platform’s back end with Rothera’s internally developed user interface, prioritizing the highest-value functionality first.
The team delivered a minimum viable product under budget, on time, and in just under three months. The full system was moved into production ahead of the June 1st deadline for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while maintaining close control over scope, timeline, and budget.
RESULT:
The success of the initial engagement led Rothera to sign a second statement of work with Connamara for additional feature development.
Ian Grieves, Chief Product Officer of Rothera, commented:
“With under five months to launch, we needed a reliable technology partner that could deliver a robust, performant system on an aggressive timeline. With Connamara’s help we successfully launched RIMS, Rothera’s reference data management system, designed to structure and manage thousands of event contracts. This system supports efficient customer integrations and our ability to scale to tens of thousands of listed contracts.”
