A technology startup in the European renewable energy certificates market wanted to provide a SaaS-based solution for the European Guarantee of Origin (GO) market for post-trade management, settlement automation, and portfolio management.
The renewable energy certificates market is a rapidly evolving and fragmented marketplace with dozens of competing solutions. The client recognized their chance to offer technology that would reduce the time and expense involved in trading these emerging assets.
They needed a technology partner with deep domain and large-scale expertise to help them determine a feasible roadmap to accomplish their goals. A return on investment was essential to the team, who wanted to be budget and time efficient.
Knowing these constraints, Connamara leaped at the partnership opportunity.
Connamara collaborated with the client alongside potential users and providers of market-based sustainability solutions to design a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to test the solution’s viability.
The project followed the typical arc for a Connamara Agile project; a lightweight design and analysis phase where the user stories and features are determined, followed by a development phase implementing those user stories and features. Development was broken into small iterations to allow transparency and communication.
After a successful design and analysis phase, the implementation went into production. The launch of the MVP took less than a year.
Testing the MVP allowed the client to assess market fit. Soon after, the startup was confident enough to release the product to a general audience.
