We are currently looking to fill the following positions:

Connamara Systems, LLC, a highly regarded and growing software engineering firm, is looking for a Director of Finance and Accounting. In this newly created position, the candidate will be a key member of the executive leadership team that includes the COO, CISO, CRO and Director of Engineering. The candidate will report directly to the CEO. This is a broad role for an ambitious individual who wants to make an immediate impact and take Connamara Systems to the next level.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity for rapid advancement to CFO.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Finance and Accounting will manage all the daily financial activities and functions of the firm including accounting, treasury, tax, insurance, credit, payroll, analysis, forecasting and budgeting, including:

  • Manage all day-to-day activities of AccountingDepartment.com (“ADC”), the firm’s outside bookkeeping firm, to ensure that all financial statements, reports and 1099’s are accurate and all required state and local filings are correct and timely filed.
  • Manage the relationship with Marcum, the firm’s outside tax accountants to ensure that all required annual and quarterly tax payments are correct and timely.
  • Manage all day-to-day activities with JustWorks, the firm’s PEO, ensuring that employee salaries, PTO, commissions, reimbursements, raises, benefits and W-2s are correct.
  • Process accounts payable, ensuring that all vendor and contractors bills are properly reviewed, approved and paid on a timely basis.
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices, ensuring that amounts invoiced accurately reflect the terms specified in customer contracts and capture all approved hourly charges and expenses.
  • Present weekly accounts receivable aging (prepared by ADC) to executive management and manage the collection process of overdue accounts.
  • Prepare and present a monthly analysis of revenues, expenses, and cash flow along with a dashboard of key financial and business metrics.
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) process, including annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting.
  • Analyze customer profitability and identify opportunities for enhancement (with information prepared by ADC).
  • Analyze all SG&A expense categories at least quarterly to identify opportunities for cost control/containment.
  • Explore investment alternatives for excess cash balances and present to executive management
  • Review the extent and cost of all insurance coverages at least annually and make recommendations as appropriate
  • Establish appropriate internal controls, processes and best practices around all accounting and finance functions to facilitate expansion, compliance and scaling of business.
  • Update documentation on all key financial and accounting processes at least annually to ensure that most current practices are reflected.

Connamara Systems is seeking a Senior Agile Trading Systems Engineer to add to our team. The engineer will be responsible for creating complex plans and conducting engineering assignments, alone or as part of a team.

A successful candidate will be ambitious and demonstrate an ability to schedule work to meet completion dates and technical/business specifications. They can distribute work effectively across a team while also collaborating and providing technical/design guidance to a team. A candidate should be capable of taking ownership of technically sophisticated customer-reported issues and work closely with the customer until complete resolution. They should be able to demonstrate an ability to interpret internal/external business issues and recommend best practices.

We have many real time distributed systems/applications in production that span a variety of technologies and languages. These applications include user interfaces, high-frequency trading platforms, risk management systems, exchange matching engines, market data and order routing adapters.

Skills & Requirements 

  • Undergraduate Degree required; Computer Science, Engineering, or Math
  • Excellent ability to solve complex software problems, design, develop, and debug solutions in a collaborative environment, using multiple languages (especially C++, Java, C#, Go, Ruby/Rails and Python).

Connamara is seeking to add a Business Analyst to our team. At Connamara the Business Analyst fills a critical role on our cross-functional teams delivering business value to clients. In this role, you will sit between the business stakeholders of our clients and Connamara designers and engineers, communicating business use cases through writing user stories, defining features, and crafting automated acceptance tests for the rest of the team.

You will be responsible and accountable for all aspects of project management. You will be accountable for schedule, budget, and scope of the project. You will be responsible for scheduling and conducting stand-up meetings, the maintenance of agile project management tools (kanban/scrum boards, burndown charts, end-date calculation charts), prioritization of work, and design and implementation of automated acceptance tests.
